For a few years this domain was the old, static HTML type of page. You would often have to learn a little code – no bad thing in itself – but could quickly become outdated and required some attention to keep fresh. Then along came Web 2.0 which importantly introduced user-generated content. No longer would a user access a site and have no means of contributing except for an e-mail or contact form – unless it was one of the old bbBoard forum type of site.
Now with the abundance of social networking sites, users can upload videos, images and create their own content. I obviously use WordPress but there are a number of alternative platforms depending upon how you wish to use your place on the web.
Interests include computing & IT, films (Blu-ray), Guinness, music, reading and any decent red wine. Above all – at the moment at least – I enjoy playing my Xbox 360.
